Quick answer

DeeDee, Jeaneen, and Valerie are three OsteoStrong Georgetown members whose DEXA scans moved the direction nobody expects: DeeDee's spine up 19% and out of osteoporosis, Jeaneen from osteoporosis to osteopenia in about a year, Valerie's hip up 5.7%. None of them found a secret workout. All three started with a free 15-minute Bone Health Roadmap call with a bone health expert.

If you live in Georgetown and your last DEXA scared you, this is for you

Maybe your doctor said osteopenia. Maybe it was full osteoporosis. Maybe you're watching a friend at Sun City shrink and grow careful, and you've started doing the quiet math about your own future.

The worry underneath is always the same: Is there anything I can actually do about this, or do I just watch the numbers fall?

Here are three of your Georgetown neighbors who asked that exact question. Each of their stories ends at a milestone: a DEXA result worth writing on the whiteboard. And each one started the same way: with a conversation.

DeeDee, OsteoStrong Georgetown member: spine +19%, out of osteoporosis

DeeDee's milestone: out of osteoporosis, spine up 19%

Georgetown Spine +19% On-camera testimonial

Spine +19% in 18 months, no longer osteoporotic

When DeeDee was told she had osteoporosis in her hip, she did what most people do: she followed the standard advice, and it left her stuck.

"My doctor wanted me to take medication and I did not want to take it. And so I really didn't know what to do. I did take it for a couple years and I didn't see any improvement. I know there are people that have seen it, but in my body I didn't."

Medication is the right call for some people, and DeeDee says so herself. But she wanted something more to work with, so she started looking. A friend told her about OsteoStrong. She was skeptical.

"I was kind of thinking, oh, that sounds too good to be true. But it wasn't too good to be true. I ended up after a year and a half getting a 19% increase in my spine, and it went from being in osteoporosis completely out of osteoporosis."

Her doctor had a hard time believing it, so DeeDee sent over the results.

"She said, 'Sounds good, keep doing what you're doing.' And so I am continuing to do what I have been doing, and I wouldn't do it any other way."

Verbatim from DeeDee's on-camera testimonial.

Nineteen percent, in the direction nobody expects bone density to go. That's the milestone. It started with a conversation.

Jeaneen, OsteoStrong Georgetown member: osteoporosis to osteopenia in about a year

Jeaneen's milestone: osteoporosis, downgraded to osteopenia

Georgetown Osteoporosis to osteopenia Whiteboard verified

Osteoporosis to osteopenia in about one year

One year at our Georgetown center. That's what sits between the two words on Jeaneen's whiteboard: osteoporosis, an arrow, and osteopenia.

If you've spent time in this world, you know how big that arrow is. Diagnoses are supposed to be one-way doors. Jeaneen's scan moved her back through one, and she says she feels stronger to go with it. She's already looking forward to what next year's scan says.

Valerie S., OsteoStrong Georgetown member: hip +5.7%

Valerie's milestone: hip up 5.7%

Georgetown Hip +5.7% Whiteboard verified

5.7% hip density gain

For most people, the hip is the number that keeps them up at night, because a hip fracture is the one that changes everything.

Valerie's whiteboard reads "5.7% increase in hip!!" with both exclamation points earned. That's the number moving away from the fracture-risk cliff, not toward it.

And she's in good company. Stella posted a 3% spine and 6.7% femoral neck increase. Martha's spine came back up 8.8%. The Georgetown whiteboard keeps filling up.

The pattern

DeeDee, Jeaneen, and Valerie didn't find a secret workout. All three are regulars at our center on North Austin Avenue, near the Square, doing one short session a week with a coach beside them the whole time.

And every one of them started the same way: with a free Bone Health Roadmap call. Fifteen minutes on the phone with a bone health expert who listened to their story, looked at where they were, and laid out a clear next step.

The plan came before the machines. The call came before everything.

The cost of waiting

DeeDee spent two years on a path that wasn't working for her before she found this one. Bone density doesn't hold still while you think it over, and the members above will tell you the same thing: the only scan they regret is the one they waited on.

A year from now, this could be your whiteboard

Imagine your next DEXA appointment feeling like a progress report instead of a verdict. Imagine your own result up on the board, exclamation points and all.

DeeDee, Jeaneen, and Valerie aren't different from you. They live where you live, they held the same scary scans, and they made one phone call.

Your milestone is waiting. The call comes first.

Free, 15 minutes, by phone. Bring your DEXA if you have one, and every question you've been sitting on.

Frequently asked questions

What results have Georgetown members actually measured on DEXA?

DeeDee's spine improved 19% after a year and a half, taking her completely out of osteoporosis - her own words, on camera. Jeaneen moved from osteoporosis to osteopenia after about a year. Valerie's hip improved 5.7%, Stella posted a 3% spine and 6.7% femoral neck gain, and Martha's spine came back up 8.8%. All results are from each member's own physician-read DEXA report.

What is a Bone Health Roadmap call?

A free 15-minute phone call with a bone health expert. You tell us what's going on - a recent DEXA result, a warning from your doctor, a fall that scared you - and we listen first. Then we answer your questions, including cost, and you leave with a clear next step. There's no pressure to decide anything on the call.

Do I have to stop my doctor's treatment plan to do OsteoStrong?

No. OsteoStrong is a non-drug option that many members use alongside their physician's plan, and others use as a complement while they and their doctor watch the numbers. Medication is the right call for some people - DeeDee says so herself in her story. Bring your DEXA and your questions to the Roadmap call and we'll talk through how OsteoStrong fits your situation.
