The Clinical Evidence Behind OsteoStrong

Peer-reviewed research, published clinical trials, and real-world results - compiled so you and your doctor can review the science together.

The Research

What the science says about osteogenic loading

Key findings from published, peer-reviewed studies and clinical trials.

1

What is osteogenic loading?

OsteoStrong uses uniquely designed equipment to safely load your musculoskeletal system and trigger adaptive responses that stimulate growth of bone and muscle. This is called osteogenic loading - the principle that bones adapt and grow stronger when they receive forces above a specific threshold. Sessions are just 15 minutes, once per week, and are guided by a certified coach.

2

Bone density research: analysis from 152 peer-reviewed studies

A meta-analysis of 152 peer-reviewed studies compared the effect of different interventions on bone mineral density. OsteoStrong sessions showed approximately 14% improvement - significantly outperforming bone anabolic drugs (~7%), bisphosphonate drugs (~2.5%), weight-bearing exercise (~1%), whole body vibration, walking, and no activity. In all studies, participants also took calcium and vitamin D3 supplements.

3

Published trial: BMD improvements in postmenopausal women

A 24-week observational trial published in the Journal of Osteoporosis & Physical Activity (Hunte, Jaquish & Huck, 2015) studied 55 postmenopausal women with osteopenia or osteoporosis. Participants used osteogenic loading through lower extremity and spinal erection kinetic chains. Results showed statistically significant increases in functional loading and bone performance - a 131% and 126% increase in musculoskeletal functional kinetic chain activity. The DXA subgroup saw bone density increases of 14.9% in the hip and 16.6% in the spine (p<0.01 in both).

4

The four Spectrum machines

Each session uses four biomechanically designed Spectrum devices that target different areas of the body. The Core Growth Trigger targets the lower rib cage and deep abdominals. The Lower Growth Trigger targets the lower body. The Postural Growth Trigger targets the spine for bone and muscle density. The Upper Growth Trigger targets the upper body. Each device includes correct positioning protocols and safety procedures - you never push past your comfort zone, and you’re always in control of the force you apply.

5

Strength gain case study: 500 participants over 4 years

A longitudinal case study tracked 500 people (average age 52) performing 7-minute sessions once per week. Strength gains compounded over time: 73% increase after 1 year, 138% after 2 years, 201% after 3 years, and 290% after 4 years. These results demonstrate that consistency with osteogenic loading produces progressively greater improvements in functional strength.

6

Type 2 diabetes and blood glucose research

A pilot study published in the Journal of Diabetes & Metabolism (Hunte & Jaquish, 2015) examined osteogenic loading in 21 adults with pre-type 2 diabetes over 24 weeks. Results showed a statistically significant 8.8% reduction in HbA1c levels (from 6.37 to 5.81), with no significant changes in weight or BMI. Osteogenic loading outperformed caloric restrictive diet, weight-bearing exercise, metformin (without weight loss), and cardiovascular exercise in A1c reduction. Psychological wellbeing scores also improved by 8 points.

7

High-impact activity and bone density: the JBMR study

A population-based study of 724 adolescents published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research (Deere et al., 2012) found that only high-impact physical activity - impacts above 4.2g of force - was positively related to hip bone mineral density and bone geometry. Walking, jogging, and moderate exercise showed little to no benefit. This supports the core principle behind osteogenic loading: bones need forces well above everyday activity levels to trigger meaningful adaptation.

8

Endorsed by American Bone Health

John Jaquish, PhD, Board Member of American Bone Health (the largest bone health society in the world), wrote a letter to physicians explaining how osteogenic loading applies to patient care. The letter states that OsteoStrong’s therapy has no adverse effects, has been shown to be safe with 65,000+ users worldwide, and has several peer-reviewed publications and multiple presentations at the World Congress of Osteoporosis.

9

World Congress of Osteoporosis presentation

Research by Huck & Jaquish was presented at the World Congress on Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases (WCO-IOF-ESCEO 2015) and published in Osteoporosis International. The study analyzed functional bone performance in 2,380 adults using osteogenic loading apparatus for 12 or more sessions over one year. Results showed MOB force/loading levels correlated with DXA results, presenting a new metric of functional bone performance for ambulatory individuals with low BMD.

10

Safety profile and contraindications

Across all published studies and clinical use with 65,000+ users worldwide, osteogenic loading has shown no adverse effects. Because the user is always in control of the force they apply, and sessions are supervised by certified coaches, the therapy is safe for individuals with osteopenia and osteoporosis. Contraindications include patients who are not ambulatory, those in acute pain, unmedicated hypertensive individuals, individuals with muscular dystrophy, and hyperparathyroid patients whose condition is not yet controlled.

My name is Nicole Denison and I've been coming to OsteoStrong for three years and three years in one month, I guess. After 15 months I decided I should get a bone density test done to see whether it was really working. To my surprise, I found out that my spine no longer was osteoporotic. I improved my bone density by 12.8%, and my hip had improved by 10.5%, and the femoral neck had improved by 8.8%. So anyway, I can highly recommend OsteoStrong for helping me to overcome the osteoporosis. Thank you very much.

Forty-four years old, I started getting bone density tests and my bone density was going down, down, down. I was doing barbell weightlifting, walking a lot, doing the things you're supposed to do for bone density. I went on hormone therapy. None of it was making it stop. A friend told me about OsteoStrong. I've been coming for 18 months. I just had my DEXA and I'm normal. After 15 years of being osteopenic. I didn't think I would ever get to normal. This place works. You got to come work it because it works and you're worth it.

Hi, I'm Bonnie Johnson. And I've been coming to OsteoStrong for about three years now. I just got my bone density scan back and I improved my femoral neck by 8.7%, and everything else improved. Every time I've had it, it's always gotten worse. So when I got this report, I couldn't believe it. Everything improved. So I am so happy. Thanks, OsteoStrong.

Hi, my name is Kathleen and I'm here today to share the great story with you about two and a half years ago. Well, actually three years ago, I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in my spine, my hip, and my femur. About two and a half years ago, I started AlgaeCal and OsteoStrong. I just got my DEXA results back. In my hip and my spine, I'm completely normal. My femur is osteopenia, but no longer osteoporosis. Thanks to AlgaeCal and OsteoStrong, I feel like a new person and I encourage you to do the same.
